A stop in Amherst

Emily Dickinson's house is now a very nice museum.  The grounds are quite beautiful.

She was an interesting character, introverted and reclusive.  Although many of her poems are a bit dark, I find this one very nice.

"Nature" is what we see—
The Hill—the Afternoon—
Squirrel—Eclipse— the Bumble bee—
Nay—Nature is Heaven—
Nature is what we hear—
The Bobolink—the Sea—
Thunder—the Cricket—
Nay—Nature is Harmony—
Nature is what we know—
Yet have no art to say—
So impotent Our Wisdom is
To her Simplicity.

  2. Gosh, you've really had an interesting trip! Wouldn't it be interesting if those walls could talk?
