My African Violets had bloomed, and I thought, "Well, that was nice while it lasted." Then, most unexpectedly, I noticed more buds emerging, looking for a little sunlight for encouragement. So, I'm looking forward to more blooms! That's never happened to me in mid-winter before.
This plant is a favorite of mine too. I might have to call it my "bird plant," for when I give the plant water, the leaves lift right up, like the bird's wings preparing for flight.
African violets can surprise you like that. In my old house they bloomed almost continuously. Here I don't have a good place for them. :-(
ReplyDeleteI love african violets...in fact they are the first real plant I remember as a child. My Mom had some cuttings, and I remember her showing me how they could root.

I've never been able to grow African violets. I am impressed. Looks like you are blessed with a green thumb!
ReplyDeleteNice! I love African violets. What's the second plant? I've killed more than one of them. :>(
